Annual Reports & Policy Documents

SLOW started running bereavement support groups in North London in 2007 and became a registered charity in 2015.  Here is a selection of our recent annual reports, financial accounts and policy documents.

The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service

In 2017 SLOW was the proud recipient of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service after being nominated by the former Mayor of Islington, Kat Fletcher.

The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to volunteer groups across the UK and equivalent to a MBE.

The award was created by the Queen in 2002 to recognise the outstanding contributions made to local communities by groups of volunteers.

Who we are

SLOW is run today by Nicola Whitworth and Kelly Carter, together with help from facilitators and a large group of volunteers, many of which were bereaved parents who have received support from the charity in the past.
