It seems incredible that there is a postcode lottery when it comes to charges for infant funeral costs.
Teresa Pearce, Labour’s shadow secretary of state for communities and local government has asked the chancellor to make this free for all bereaved parents in the upcoming Autumn Statement on November 23rd.
For example, there are parts of London where, if you live on one side of the road, you won’t have to pay for the burial of your child, and if you live on the other side of the road you’ll have to pay up to £2000 to do so.

It is interesting too that today, the #PrematurityBill will be announced in Parliament – I hope it is a sign that we as a nation are starting to take more note of the issues surrounding birth and the help we as a society need to give with premature birth and child bereavement.
