We have been invited to take part in the amazing Breathe Festival this coming Saturday the 23rd, from 2 to 4. And SLOW members have been invited to take part in an art workshop to make windmills as part of a larger installation – there are one or two places left for SLOW families (ages 6 upwards, adults included). There are more details of the event here.
The whole event goes on for three weeks celebrating wind, breath and air, centred around VOX: a multi-sensory wind harp installation by Output Arts. Supporting this are artists, musicians, dancers and storytellers working with the themes of the festival, some incorporating the music of the harp. These include Ansuman Biswas, Bishi, Karine Polwart, Jason Singh, Cando2 and more!
Just one of the many performers is the incredible Karine Polwart who will be performing on Friday 26th, with the first ever outing for a new song, story and spoken word work-in-progress combining flight science, Celtic and Nordic weather myths and ancient bird lore into a poetic meditation upon empathy, belonging and ecological sustainability.
